Are you still spending time on the phone making cold calls? Maybe you bought a lead list. For sure you're holding meetings or going to them, right? And all of us are trying to bring our friends and family members in as business partners. Those days have come to an end.

Building your business the way you've always done it, is totally obsolete. It's an irrelevant, old-school sales methodology that is only used by marketers who are unfamiliar with attraction-based sponsoring and recruiting.

The average person really dislikes being solicited. The marketer is usually met with frustration and even anger. People just don't want to be bothered these days. So trying to build a business using cold calling, and super aggressive selling is useless.

With the power of the internet, however, there is a big opportunity for the marketer of today. One can take a simple thought or hobby, and thru the internet create a successful business for little or no money at all.

But even with that statistics state that 95% of marketers fail at their home business. Mainly this is because they haven't acquired the skills and knowledge they need for today's market place to be competitive.

Those who do succeed in todays market have discovered the secret, or the key, to separating themselves from the pack.

It's simply this...If you're in the business of getting someone to buy from you, or join your team, you've got to find a way to get them to welcome you. The last thing you want to do is be a pest. Think about it...would you want someone pestering you for something you're not interested in?

So there's one of two things you can do to effectively build your business...

1. You can continue to play the numbers game with cold-calling and hopefully make a sale (which is the way those 95% of people who fail take);

2. You become the person that interested prospects are trying to find, instead of you trying to find them.

If you want to grow your business then of course you'll go the second way described above. Now you're being perceived as in expert in your business, which is what the prospect will value when considering your business.

In this way, the prospect is asking you to consider them, rather than you asking them to join you or buy from you. The old-school sales tactics never comes into play. Even the very idea of sales is dismissed. It is now about relationship.

You must understand the importance of being a knowledgeable service provider that is sought after to buy from or join with.

Yes, you can be that leader and that expert that everyone likes to work with. When you do make phone calls and emails, they are welcomed and valued instead of detested and deleted.
