Latest Updates to PIPS 2.0

Just a quick post to keep you up to date with improvements to the PIPS 2.0 site.

 Firstly and probably most noticably are the two banners which you can see in the header and right sidebar. The banners have been inserted using the built in banner function, somthing I have been meaning to incorporate for some time.

Some of the features of the banner function...

• Easy to set up: With the ability to paste your banner code straight in to the module
• Alternating  banners: If you refresh this page you will notice the banners change. You can have as many banners as you want and Joomla will randomly display one each time.
• Sats: Find out which banners are getting the most clicks.

Another addition you may have noticed is the adsense ads at the top of the page. This module has been part of PIPS 2.0 for a while now however in the past I have left it unpublished so that PIPS 2.0 members can activate and use it if they choose. I decided to publish it on this site just to show you that it can be done.

Features of the Google Adsense Joomla module...

• You can choose any Adsense size and color combination using the Adsense module from within the Joomla control which is really handy.
• You can place the adsense ads virtually anywhere on the page.
• You can enter your IP address into the module  to block the ads when you are working on your site to protect you from accidently clicking on your own links and getting your account banned.

Adding fresh content to your site is extremely important for SEO purposes which is why I have added two new modules to the home page, latest forum posts and latest comments. These modules will help keep the conent on your home page fresh as well improving the chances of your content being indexed. I have also added a new content module to display the latest articles and blog posts rather than the previous sliding module. The sliding module is still available if you wish to use it.

I have also added a subscribe module to make it easier for people to find your RSS feeds and hopefully increae signups.

And lastly if you look at the very bottom of the page you will see two sitemaps, previously there was the HTML sitemap link however now I have also added the Google XML sitemap links as well.
