PIPS 2.0 is built using a very popular content management system called Joomla. There are many pros for using a content management system such as Joomla and very few cons. The main advantage which applies to the majority of PIPS members lies in the fact that you don't need to know any HTML to use it. You can quickly add new content, links, banners and basically anything you want to your site using the built in graphical user interface.

Most PIPS members are on a small budget and therefore are going to rely on free traffic for the most part. The best form of free traffic is from the search engines as it is highly targeted and there is usually plenty of it. Unfortunately a lot of people do not know the right way to go about generating search engine traffic therefore waste time and money without any results.

There are a few key factors which are essential to having any chance of obtaining search engine traffic when you are starting out.

• Pages on your site must be unique
• You must target the right keywords
• Your pages must be optimized properly around those keywords
• You must incorporate a link building strategy

The first point is extremely important to note because if you are trying to obtain search engine traffic with the default PIPS site without making the content unique then you are going to see very little results. The only way to edit the pages on a default PIPS site is to download each page to your computer and edit the HTML using an HTML editor and re-upload them one at a time, very time consuming. In Joomla you simply log in to your control panel, select the content you wish to edit and using the built in editor make any changes you wish.

Lets say over time you want to add a banner to your sidebar for a new affiliate programme you have signed up to, you would have to download every single page on your site and one at a time add the code for the banner and then one at a time re-upload them.This is one of the reasons content management systems were developed because first of all to do this same task you don't need to download any files and secondly you don't need to touch any code at all you simply add the banner using the content editor and then apply the banner to whichever pages you like.

FEATURES

I have incorporated a ton of features to help increase your chances of generating a decent income from your site. All of the features can be easily customized or switched off altogether from your Joomla control panel if you are not happy with them for whatever reason.

• Article Directory - Joomla has a built in membership function and one of the features allows members to submit articles to your site. I have created an article directory section with 40 categories related to internet marketing and home business.
